All looked bright for Donovan Munger in June 2013 as he prepared to start his football career at Ohio State.
That's when he felt it; some discomfort that he initially suspected was gas grew into an intolerable pain in the middle of the night.
His mom took him to the hospital to find that Munger had blood clots in his lungs and that his football days -- about to reach their pinnacle -- were over.
What a difference a year makes, as Munger practicing with the Buckeyes and is in the mix to contribute on the team's defensive line rotation.
“As far as my situation and being back and being in the rotation, it’s great," Munger told the The Columbus Dispatch. "People thought I wasn’t going to be with the twos, they thought I was going to be lower down in the roster. People kind of forgot about me. I’m trying to make a name for myself.”
