Stadium face lift

A 12-2 season caused a 41% spike in the attendance at Jack Coffey Stadium for Fordham football games.  The increase in interest in the Bronx caught the athletics department by surprise last season, but now they expect to carry their success into another season and are well prepared for a new wave of fans.

The first televised football game was played Sept. 30, 1939

The first known televised football game was played Sept. 30, 1939, when Fordham beat Waynesburg, 34-7. Estimates vary, but it's thought that 5,000 people tuned in to see the game.
