The ‘Diabolical Defender’

Kansas LB Ben Heeney has seen his popularity swell recently due to his defensive prowess.

With great tackling power, comes great responsbility. Such is the story for Jayhawks linebacker Ben Heeney, who's underground legend at Kansas has only swelled as of late. Recently, the communications department at Kansas built a website for the "Diabolical Defender," complete with stories, biography and stats, to promote the defensive leader's story nationwide.

However, the way Heeney's teammates describe him may be reason enough to believe the legend.

“I wouldn’t exactly call myself a superhero or any of the other guys on the team superheroes, but Heeney is definitely a superhero” wide receiver Nick Harwell said.
