Welcome back, college football

College football season is here, and if you were anywhere near a screen Thursday night, a common theme stood out: happiness. It's one of the greatest times on the field and on the Internet.

It's basically a holiday for college football fans, and they decked the halls Twitter with festive decorations.

Like schoolchildren, fans woke up early in anticipation of the holiday, and, like these players, couldn't handle the excitement.

Some fans woke up and couldn't believe it was finally here.

The joy spread throughout the galaxy. College football was back, and fans were at home.

Though the clock counted down, no one wanted to wait another second. Especially the players involved in the first FBS tilt: North Carolina vs. South Carolina in Charlotte.

 

 

The Head Ball Coach himself couldn't even keep his trademark cool.

And, as toe met leather, it was like finding true love once again.

 

 

However, there was another return that continued to spur anticipation like no other.
