Ole Miss eats alligator before game at Florida

There is no substitute for a hearty pregame meal.

Just ask the Ole Miss football team. You know what’s even better than a hearty pregame meal, though? A hearty pregame meal that has a theme. Ole Miss’ Friday lunch had just that in anticipation for its game against the Florida Gators tomorrow.

Yes, that is alligator. The Rebels chowed down on some gator meat before heading to Gainesville for tomorrow’s clash against the ‘football’ Gators.

The Rebels should have full bellies going into the game. Alligator meat has 29 percent protein, which is equal to chicken and more than fish, according to the book ‘Miami Spice: The New Florida Cuisine.’
