Northwestern reveals throwback uniforms for homecoming against Iowa

In honor of the 20th anniversary of the 1995 Big Ten championship team, No. 20 Northwestern revealed throwback uniforms for its homecoming game against No. 17 Iowa on Saturday.

The 1995 Northwestern team finished with 10-2 record and went undefeated in conference play under coach Gary Barnett and current coach Pat Fitzgerald, who played linebacker for the Wildcats. The uniforms for Saturday are the same black-jersey, purple-pants combination worn by the team in the 1996 Rose Bowl, where Northwestern lost to then Pac-10 champion USC. The throwback uniforms feature the iconic Rose Bowl logo with a patch on the jersey's neckline.

Northwestern and Iowa will kickoff at noon ET on Saturday for an advantage in the Big Ten West division.
