Baylor quarterback Seth Russell will not play the rest of this season after breaking a bone in his neck against Iowa State. Russell had successful surgery, though, and was visited by perhaps the greatest Baylor Bear ever shortly after.
Robert Griffin III won the Heisman Trophy in 2011 at Baylor. Though Russell wasn’t pegged as a favorite to win the award, his 29 touchdown throws to just six interceptions at the time of his injury were impressive nonetheless. Here’s to hoping Russell makes a full recovery.
