Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism, Media and Integrated Marketing Communications will honor best-selling author George R.R. Martin at its home football game against Penn State on Saturday. Martin is a 1970 Northwestern graduate.

The author’s best-known work was adapted into HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ television series. The Wildcat marching band will perform music from the hit show during halftime of the game.

Northwestern is clearly pumped for his arrival:

We can’t wait for Saturday.

Joe Boozell has been a college basketball writer for NCAA.com since 2015. His work has also appeared in Bleacher Report, FOXSports.com and NBA.com. Joe’s claim to fame since joining NCAA.com: he’s predicted the correct national championship game twice… and picked the wrong winner both times. Growing up, Joe squared off against both Anthony Davis and Frank Kaminsky in the Chicagoland basketball scene. You can imagine how that went.
