FSU honors Beamer with full-page ad

Normally, a gold watch -- or even a rocking chair -- seems like a suitable going-away present for a retirement party.

But Florida State went one better this weekend by ordering a full-page ad in Saturday's Roanoke Times, honoring long-time Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer, who is stepping down after the season.

Here's what the ad looked like:

Beamer's not actually leaving after coaching the Hokies in their regular-season finale against Virginia on Saturday. He'll remain as a special assistant to the school's athletic director.
