Fans might have noticed Saturday morning the absence of Desmond Howard on College GameDay. But what better excuse to not be on set than having your number retired?
During its rivalry game with Ohio State, Michigan officially retired Howard's No. 21 along with the re-retirement of five other Wolverine legends' numbers.

It's fitting that Howard's number is getting retired when the Wolverines host the Buckeyes considering the 1991 game sealed the Heisman Trophy for him.
Who could forget the moment Howard orginated the iconic pose?
