The team owns four consecutive championships despite losing the head coach of three of those championship teams to Wyoming in 2014.
The Bison is back in Saturday's FCS title game gunning for a record fifth championship in five years, but it wasn't easy to get there. NDSU began the year with a defeat and lost starting quarterback Carson Wentz midway through the season. The team reached the FCS championship game with wins over Montana, Northern Iowa, and Richmond.
