Michigan football: Jim Harbaugh to attend State of the Union

Jim Harbaugh led the Wolverines to 10 wins this season.

Jim Harbaugh is headed to Capitol Hill.

U.S. Rep. Justin Amash announced on Twitter that the Michigan coach will be his guest for President Barack Obama's final State of the Union address on Tuesday night.

Each member of congress can invite one guess and Amash, a Michigan alum, invited the leader of the Wolverines football team.

"I am excited and honored that Coach Harbaugh will attend the State of the Union as my guest," Amash told MLive. "He's a leader and a champion who is making a difference."

Harbaugh will also be accompanied by his wife, as U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell has invited Sarah Harbaugh as her one guest.
