Rest in peace, Johnny Lattner. The former Notre Dame running back, defensive back and Heisman Trophy winner died Saturday morning at the age of 83. He was battling lung cancer.

His school all-purpose career yardage record stood until Vegas Ferguson broke it in 1979. Lattner will be missed by both the college football and Notre Dame communities.
