Cutcliffe received a call from Doyle's parents and answered it in front of the team, but handed the phone to Doyle so his parents could tell him he had been awarded a scholarship. Doyle is a junior defensive end who spent his first two years at Duke as a walk-on. He was on the field for two snaps, against Kansas and Tulane, in 2014.
