South Carolina strong.

Clemson football knows how it feels to be on the brink of a championship. The Tigers came up just short of a title in January against Alabama, and with Coastal Carolina on the winning end of a 5-4 national championship game against Arizona, Clemson was pulling for its state.

Tiger receiver Mike Williams documented the final out:

Alex Cunningham struck out the final Wildcat batter he faced, and Clemson was absolutely psyched. The Coastal Carolina and Clemson campuses are nearly 275 miles apart, but it was cool to see athletes from a different school rooting on another.

Joe Boozell has been a college basketball writer for NCAA.com since 2015. His work has also appeared in Bleacher Report, FOXSports.com and NBA.com. Joe’s claim to fame since joining NCAA.com: he’s predicted the correct national championship game twice… and picked the wrong winner both times. Growing up, Joe squared off against both Anthony Davis and Frank Kaminsky in the Chicagoland basketball scene. You can imagine how that went.
