Ball State walk-on surprised with full scholarship

What started out as a lighthearted game show turned into a memorable moment for one Ball State player.

Kyle Seger, a redshirt senior who walked on for the Cardinals in 2012, was surprised by his teammates and the coaching staff Sunday when he was presented with a full scholarship.

The gesture was made in the form of a “grand prize” in a “The Cardinal Is Right” gameshow put on by the team. After a couple of Seger’s teammates correctly guessed in a Charades-style format, it was Seger’s turn to come on down.

After Seger guessed his word correctly, he turned around to see his prize on the screen. His teammates were quick to celebrate Seger’s accomplishment, mobbing him and lifting him up on their shoulders.

Seger has played in 11 games over the past two seasons for Ball State.
