Ohio State adds unoccupied seat to Ohio Stadium to honor military
Ohio Stadium has the third-highest maximum capacity in college football, and it just added one more very special seat.
Urban Meyer announced on Twitter today that Ohio Stadium will add a seat that will honor the United States’ armed forces. It will remain unoccupied. The plaque in front of the seat reads:
“Since World War 1, more than 92,000 American soldiers are unaccounted for. This unoccupied seat is dedicated to the memory of these brave men and women and to the sacrifices each made in serving this country. God Bless You. God Bless America.”
Coach Meyer is clearly pleased with the addition:
Proud to have this addition at Ohio Stadium. Thank you to all who have served & have made the ultimate sacrifice. pic.twitter.com/KUCBO5sqgh— Urban Meyer (@OSUCoachMeyer) September 1, 2016
A very classy move from the Buckeyes, indeed.
