Ohio State's Noah Brown may have made the most jaw-dropping catch across the nation Saturday, but as for who made the most receptions? That title would belong to East Carolina's Zay Jones, whose performance was just as extraordinary.
Jones hauled in 22 catches Saturday in ECU's 20-15 loss to South Carolina. The final tally broke the Pirates' single-game record and brings him to 39 receptions through three games -- one catch short of Cal's Chad Hansen for most in the FBS.

Jones broke ECU's previous high mark for receptions in one game set by Justin Hardy's 17 catches in 2013 and fell one short of tying the NCAA record of 23 (done twice by Eastern Michigan's Tyler Jones in 2008 and Randy Gatewood of UNLV in 1994).
For greater context, the NFL record was only 21, which was achieved by current New York Jets receiver Brandon Marshall when he was a Denver Bronco.
It seems that Pirates quarterback Phillip Nelson and Jones have developed quite the connection in Greenville.
