Before the Saturday afternoon kickoff against Nebraska, Illinois’ players presented the Cornhuskers an Illini jersey honoring Sam Foltz, the Nebraska punter that was killed in a car accident.

While the jersey looked like other Fighting Illini players’, Foltz’s name and the number he wore for Nebraska were displayed as well as the signatures of all of the Illinois players and coaches.
Long snapper Michael Martin presented the jersey alongside his own teammates, and in the video posted by Nebraska, he says, “When Mike and Sam died, it hit hard. We didn't know him, but we know what you're going through. This is a token of how we feel. Sam, he wasn't an Illini, but we love him anyway.”
Man.
