Ohio State vs. Clemson TV schedule, game preview for College Football Playoff semifinal

College Football Playoff: Clemson vs. Ohio State | Versus

One-half of the College Football Playoff National Championship will be determined when No. 3 Ohio State takes on No. 2 Clemson in the Playstation Fiesta Bowl. Both teams have suffered just one loss this season.

Players to watch

J.T. Barrett has done it all for Ohio State this season. He’s thrown for 2,428 yards, 25 touchdowns and five interceptions and is the team’s No. 2 rusher with 847 yards and nine touchdowns.

Deshaun Watson threw for 3,914 yards, 37 touchdowns and 15 interceptions this season for Clemson. He was also the team’s second-leading rusher with 529 yards and six scores.

Key Stats

Ohio State has rushed for 3,100 yards (5.5 average) and 33 touchdowns this season.

The Buckeyes have never beaten Clemson; the most recent matchup was a 40-35 Clemson win in 2014.

Ohio State has won five straight games since its only loss this season -- 24-21 to Penn State on Oct. 22.

Clemson’s only loss this season came to Pittsburgh on a last-second Chris Blewitt field goal on Nov. 12.

Ohio State is in search of its fifth straight season with at least 12 wins.

The Buckeyes have won eight National Championships; Clemson has won just one.

This is the second year in a row that Ohio State is playing in the Fiesta Bowl; in the 45-year history of the game, the Buckeyes are 5-2 in Fiesta Bowls.

This is Clemson’s first-ever Fiesta Bowl appearance.

The Tigers have won double-digit games in each of the last six seasons.

This is Clemson’s 12th straight season playing in a bowl game; it is 6-6 in its previous 12 bowl games (including last season’s National Championship loss to Alabama).

Injuries

Clemson defensive tackle Scott Pagano is questionable with a foot injury.

Tigers defensive end Richard Yeargin is questionable with a knee injury.
