Undefeated college football teams in 2019

Check out these 5 college football games to watch in Week 4

We're onto Week 4 of the 2019 college football season. There are 35 FBS teams still undefeated. Expect that number to continue to plummet the next few weeks.

Last season, Clemson finished 15-0 as the only undefeated team. Alabama, Notre Dame and UCF all entered bowl season undefeated. But Alabama fell to Clemson in the CFP national title game, Notre Dame lost to Clemson in the CFP semifinals and UCF lost to LSU in the Fiesta Bowl.

Going into Week 4, the Big Ten has six teams still unbeaten.

Ohio State QB Justin Fields had another big game, throwing three touchdowns in the win at Indiana. The Buckeyes picked up 305 rushing yards, led by 193 from J.K. Dobbins. OSU has some games left on the schedule: Michigan State, Wisconsin, Penn State and Michigan. But that also means a bunch of other ranked teams still have to play the Buckeyes.

TOP 25 RANKINGS: Breaking down the new AP Poll for Week 3

It was an emotional win for the Gators, who trailed by 11 in the second half and lost QB Feleipe Franks with a leg injury. But the Florida defense, QB Kyle Trask and a 76-yard Josh Hammond TD run helped the Gators rally to stun the Wildcats.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL SCHEDULE: TV channels, game times for the season

Last undefeated season: 2008 (13-0, won Sugar Bowl, finished No. 2 in AP Poll)

The Utes blanked FCS Idaho State 31-0 to get to 3-0. Utah had 320 passing yards and 223 rushing yards. Southern California, which was on the undefeated list going into this week, is up next, as the Utes travel to Los Angeles for a Friday night game.

No. 11 Michigan (2-0)

Next: at No. 14 Wisconsin | 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 | FOX

Last undefeated season: 1997 (12-0, won Rose Bowl, split national championship with Nebraska)

Michigan barely remained on the undefeated list, needing a long missed field goal in the final seconds and then two overtimes to beat Army. The offense has struggled, but the Wolverines have an extra week to prepare for Wisconsin on Sept. 21¬†‚ÄĒ though the Badgers also have an off week in Week 3.

No. 13 (tied) Penn State (3-0)

COLLEGE FOOTBALL POLLS: AP Top 25 rankings | Coaches Poll

No. 13 (tied) Wisconsin (2-0)

Last game: def. Central Michigan, 61-0
Next: vs. No. 10 Michigan | 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 | FOX
Toughest games remaining: vs. Michigan (Sept. 21), at Ohio State (Nov. 26), at Nebraska (Nov. 16)
Last undefeated season: 1912 (7-0)

No team has probably looked as outright impressive the first two weeks, at least by the final scores. The Badgers are outscoring teams 110-0 this young season and now have off until Michigan comes for a Sept. 21 game. Jonathan Taylor has scored eight touchdowns already, though the play of QB Jack Coan might be more important. After struggling in the air last season, Wisconsin might have found an answer in Coan: 564 passing yards, five touchdowns, no interceptions after two games.

No. 15 UCF (3-0)

Last game: def. Stanford, 45-27
Next: at Pitt | Saturday, Sept. 21
Toughest games remaining: at Cincinnati (Oct. 4), at Temple (Oct. 26), vs. Houston (Nov. 2)
Last undefeated season: 2017 (13-0, won Peach Bowl, finished No. 6 in AP Poll)

UCF is the highest ranked Group of 5 team as it looks to play in a New Year's Six game for the third consecutive season. The Knights easily beat Stanford in Week 3, posting 545 offensive yards and leading by 31 at halftime. QB Dillon Gabriel had 347 yards and four touchdowns without an interception.

No. 18 Iowa (3-0)

Last game: def. Iowa State, 18-17
Next: vs. Middle Tennessee | Saturday, Sept. 28
Toughest games remaining: at Michigan (Oct. 5), vs. Penn State (Oct. 12), at Wisconsin (Nov.  9)
Last undefeated season: 1922 (7-0)

With ESPN's "College GameDay" in Ames, Iowa for the first time, the Hawkeyes ruined the Cyclones' party with an 18-17 win. In a game that went through two weather delays, Iowa did just enough to stay unbeaten. Though Iowa State gained 105 more yards, the Hawkeyes benefited from two turnovers.

No. 19 Washington State (3-0)

Last game: def. Houston, 31-24
Next: vs. UCLA | 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 | ESPN
Toughest games remaining: at Utah (Sept. 28), at Oregon (Oct. 26), at Washington (Nov. 29)
Last undefeated season: 1917 (6-0-1)

Despite losing 4,700-yard passer Gardner Minshew, Washington State continues to look good on offense. Against Houston in Week 3, Anthony Gordon passed for 440 yards and three touchdowns as Washington State moved to 3-0. The Cougars next play UCLA in their first Pac-12 game of the season.

No. 20 Boise State (3-0)

Last game: def. Portland State, 45-10
Next: vs. Air Force | 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20 | ESPN2
Toughest games remaining: vs. Air Force (Sept. 20), at BYU (Oct.19), at Utah State (Nov. 23)
Last undefeated season: 2009 (14-0, won Fiesta Bowl, finished No. 4 in AP Poll)

The Broncos led only 14-10 through the first quarter before they dominated to a lopsided win. Hank Bachmeier and Chase Cord combined for 341 passing yards and four touchdowns in the win over the FCS Vikings. The next one likely won't be easy, however. Boise State meets. 2-0 Air Force on Friday.

No. 21 Virginia (3-0)

Last game: def. Florida State, 31-24
Next: vs. Old Dominion | 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 | ESPN2
Toughest games remaining: at Notre Dame (Sept. 28), at Miami (Oct. 11), at North Carolina (Nov. 2)
Last undefeated season: 1908 (7-0-1)

Virginia won a thriller against Florida State, stuffing a run on a hurried final play of the game to clinch the win. The Cavaliers stay home to play Old Dominion next week before a big visit to Notre Dame.

No. 23 California (3-0)

Last game: def. North Texas, 23-17
Next: at Ole Miss | 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 | ESPNU
Toughest games remaining: at Oregon (Oct. 5), at Utah (Oct. 26), vs. Washington State (Nov. 9)
Last undefeated season: 1937 (10-0-1, won Rose Bowl)

California has been far from dominant, but 3-0 is 3-0. The Golden Bears beat FCS UC Davis by 14, surprisingly won at ranked Washington by a point and most recently beat North Texas by 6. Though the Golden Bears were outgained by North Texas, Cal won the turnover battle. It also got 149 yards on the ground. But it's about to get tough: at Ole Miss, vs. Arizona State and at Oregon in three consecutive games.

No. 24 Arizona State (3-0)

Last game: def. then-No. 18 Michigan State, 10-7
Next: vs. Colorado | 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 | Pac-12 Networks
Toughest games remaining: vs. Washington State (Oct. 12), at Utah (Oct. 19), vs. Oregon (Nov. 23)
Last undefeated season: 1975 (12-0, won Fiesta Bowl, finished No. 2 in the polls)

Through three games, the Sun Devils have allowed a total of 21 points. That defense was just enough to win at then-No. 18 Michigan State, as the Spartans missed a field goal on the last play of the game that would have sent the game into overtime. ASU gained only 216 yards to the Spartans' 404, but Arizona State returned home still perfect. A visit from Colorado is up on Week 4.

No. 25 TCU (2-0)

Last game: def. Purdue, 34-13
Next: vs. SMU | 3:30 p.m. | Saturday, Sept. 21 | FS1
Toughest games remaining: at Iowa State (Oct. 5), vs. Texas (Oct. 26), at Oklahoma (Nov. 23)
Last undefeated season: 2010 (13-0, won Rose Bowl, finished No. 2 in the polls)

The Horned Frogs impressed at Purdue by winning by three touchdowns. TCU did most of the damage on the ground, rushing for 346 yards. Both Darius Anderson and Sewo Olonilua ran for more than 100 yards. Rival SMU is next, though TCU has won the last seven in the series.

Here are the remaining undefeated teams that aren't ranked in the AP Poll:
