Undefeated college football teams in 2021

College football rankings: Ohio State rises, Cincinnati reaches top 4 for first time

Only two undefeated college football teams are left at the FBS level after Week 13. On Friday, Cincinnati finished its regular-season schedule with a perfect record after defeating East Carolina 35-13 on the road. On Saturday, UTSA fell from the undefeated ranks with a 45-23 loss to North Texas. However, top-ranked Georgia shut out Georgia Tech as the Bulldogs finished the regular season undefeated for the first time since 1982.

Here's a closer look at the remaining undefeated teams in the FBS this season, as of Nov. 27, 2021.

No. 1 Georgia (12-0)

Next game: 4 p.m. ET Saturday, Dec. 4 vs. Alabama (SEC Championship Game)

Georgia might have a historically great defense as the Bulldogs have held their first 12 opponents to17 or fewer points, the first program to do so since 1979 Texas. Georgia has shutouts against SEC foes Vanderbilt and Arkansas and in-state rival Georgia Tech.

No. 4 Cincinnati (12-0)

Next game: Saturday, Dec. 4 versus Houston (AAC Championship)

The Bearcats took a 21-3 lead into halftime on Friday against East Carolina in Week 13 but the Pirates were responsible for the game's only score in the third quarter – a field goal – as they hung around, 21-6. A blocked field goal that was returned for a touchdown by Cincinnati's Sauce Gardner gave the Bearcats more of a cushion and they added another touchdown in the game's closing minutes to win by 22 points.

Next up is a date with Houston in the AAC Championship. Through Week 12, the Cougars are undefeated in conference play.
