For a few seconds, Andre Williams shared Boston College's single-game rushing record. On his next play, he lost a yard. He didn't carry the ball again. Williams entered the game as the Atlantic Coast Conference rushing leader with 515 yards and 128.8 per game then built on that with the best performance of his career. The senior scored on runs of 34, 1, 37 and 3 yards before capping his scoring with another 34-yarder early in the fourth quarter as Boston College took a three-touchdown lead. He carried the ball 30 times.
Auburn's defensive line came up huge against Mississippi in racking up six sacks -- the most since recording 11 in 2005 against Alabama. Leading the way was freshman Carl Lawson who finished with two sacks and ended the game with aa three-yard sack of quarterback Bo Wallace. Lawson led the Tigers with 3.5 tackles for loss.

Ty Montgomery returned the opening kickoff 99 yards for a TD and caught a 34-yard pass for another score to put the Cardinal in control from the start and keep them there. He caught three passes for 56 yards, ran 30 yards on two carries and racked up 204 yards returning kicks. Montgomery finished with 290 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns.
