After standing untouched for more than a decade, the FBS single-game rushing record was eclipsed for a second consecutive week, this time by Oklahoma’s Samaje Perine. A 90-minute rain delay proved a minor setback as Perine rewarded Sooner fans with a 427 yard performance, shattering Melvin Gordon’s previous record of 408 yards set just seven days earlier. Perine accounted for five scores powering Oklahoma to a 44-7 rout of the Jayhawks. Kansas has conceded 560 yards on the ground in back-to-back weeks.
Arizona State defensive lineman Marcus Hardison dominated the trenches as the Sun Devils defense sacked Washington State quarterback Luke Falk six times and forced five turnovers in Saturday's 55-31 win. Hardison recorded his 10th sack of the year -- good for ninth in the country -- and also came down with an interception late in the second quarter. Arizona State, which faces rival Arizona on Friday, outscored the Cougars 31-7 in the second half.
