PHOENIX, ARIZ. - Freshman Connor Steele fired a final-round 73 to lead the Drake men's golf team to the title at the Quintero Invitational on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs easily outdistanced the four-team field to capture the team title carding a third-round total of 309 for a three-day score of 926 (309-308-309). Creighton, North Dakota State and South Dakota finished second, second and fourth, respectively, with tallies of 954 (320-313-321), 954 (319-316-319) and 1,020 (350-340-330).

Senior Ben Freeman fired a 76 in the third round to capture medalist honors for Drake with a three-day total of 218 (71-71-76-218).

Senior Cody Schweinefus carded an 81 in the final round to secure second place with a three-day mark of 230 (75-74-81-230).

Rounding out the Bulldogs' top five were Steele, senior Brad Reierson and freshman Matt Ohl, who turned in rounds of 73 (79-83-73-235/6th), 79 (84-80-79-243/T-10th) and 87 (84-85-87-256/T-18th), respectively.

Sophomore John Rasmussen led second-place Creighton. He was fifth in the individual standings after rounds of 78, 82 and 73 (+17/233) total.
