KERRVILLE, Texas -- No. 23 Trinity (Texas) opened the 2012 spring season with a victory at the Schreiner Spring Shootout on Tuesday afternoon.

Trinity shot a two-round 614 to win the tournament by a single stroke against third-ranked Texas-Tyler. The Tigers led by five strokes after Monday's round, and all five Trinity golfers shot under 80 on the first day.

Geoffrey Setiawan tied for the low round of the second day with a score of 73 on Tuesday, vaulting himself into a third-place tie for individual honors. Setiawan had a total score of 150 for the two-day event.

Warren Taylor shot 75-77 in the tournament to also earn a spot in the top 10 individually. Taylor finished in a tie for seventh place overall.

Kalen Vos shot 76-80 for a tie for 13th place, while Tyler Lehmann shot 79-82 (161) and Erik Long-Goheen shot 74-87 (161) to tie for 27th individually.

Texas Lutheran finished in third place, eight strokes behind the Tigers. LeTourneau came in fourth, while host Schreiner rounded out the top five. Texas Lutheran's Chris Hyten was the top individual finisher, shooting 73-74 (147) for the week.
