ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. -- Four Monarchs finished in the top 10 and No. 2 Methodist rallied from a four-stroke deficit after 36 holes to win the USA South conference tournament on Sunday afternoon at Benevue Country Club.

Methodist shot a final-day 285 for a three-day total of 897 (312-300-285) and ended up winning the competition 11 strokes ahead of Christopher Newport (309-303-296--908). Greensboro took third (313-304-299--916), followed by LaGragne (314-294-310--918), Averett (312-315-295--921), North Carolina Wesleyan (323-325-317--965), Ferrum (328-328-319--975) and Maryville (345-322-321--988).

Brandon Grogan of Averett was the individual champion, posting a one-over par score of 217 (78-71-68).

For Methodist, Ben Boyle led the way with a sixth-place finish after shooting a two-under 70 on the final day. He finished at 223 (80-73-70). Dakun Chang (77-77-71--225) and Mike Wesko (78-75-72--225) both tied for seventh and Andrew Bateman (77-76-73--226) sat alone in 10th place.

Jeff Wells rounded out the Monarchs' competitors, shooting 85-76-72--233 to tie for 16th place.

Methodist will now prep for the NCAA championships, to be held May 14-17, at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Fla.
