Central Florida climbs five spots in second round of Augusta Invitational

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- After a lack luster opening round at Forest Hills Golf Club Saturday, No. 6 Central Florida picked things up in round two, climbing five spots and finishing tied with No. 17 Texas atop the team leaderboard in the 3M Augusta Invitational.

UCF Senior Greg Eason carded a 137 (-7) through the first two rounds and is tied for the overall lead with Virginia Tech's Scott Vincent. American Athletic Conference Golfer of the week Ricardo Gouveia sits alone in third, just one shot off the pace, after turning in a 138 (-6) through two rounds.

Despite Eason's stellar opening round of 66 (-6), UCF was seven shots back after the first 18 holes. The Knights however, came charging back, led by Gouveia and coach's selection Kyle Wilshire who both carded second round scores of 67 (-5), catapulting the Knights to the top of the team leaderboard.
