South Carolina Aiken leads at South/Southeast Regional

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- South Carolina Aiken leads the NCAA South/Southeast Regional after a solid opening round of an even-par 288.

Leading the way for head coach Michael Carlisle's team was senior Kyle Godsman, who registered a two-under par 70 score. Godsman is currently tied for sixth.

USC Aiken's Andrew Ward carded a one-under par 71. He is tied for 11th.

Brandon Robinson-Thompson, who won the PBC Championship, started tournament play with an even-par 72, which is good enough for 14th place.

Hayden Letien posted a three-over par 75 for the Pacers over the first 18 holes. His effort puts him in a tie for 33rd.

Gaines Milliner tallied a five-over par 77 in the first round of the tournament and is currently tied for 60th.

USC Aiken was headed toward a sensational first round as they started with a combined eight-under par. However, the wind started picking up and Carlisle's squad shot an eight-over par on the back nine, resulting in the 288, even-par score for the round.

The Pacers return to action Tuesday starting at 12 p.m. ET, for the second round of the NCAA South/Southeast Regional.
