Randolph-Macon, Bowling win inaugural women's ODAC Championships
CAPE CHARLES, Va. -- Randolph-Macon won the inaugural Old Dominion Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship on Tuesday afternoon. Freshman Olivia Bowling captured the Individual ODAC title after posting a second-round 79 at Bay Creek Resort.
Randolph-Macon improved by 21 strokes as a team with a second round 349 (+57) to bring their tournament total to 719. The Yellow Jackets finished ten strokes ahead of second-place Hollins to secure their first tournament victory in the program's young history.
Bowling shot the only sub-80 score of the second round to bring her two-day championship total to 166 (+20). She claimed the ODAC Individual Championship by finishing four strokes ahead of two Hollins golfers. As a first-year program, Bowling won the first individual tournament championship in Randolph-Macon history.
Rebecca Ream carded a second-round 88 for a two-day score of 179, putting her in fourth place individually.
Danielle Calhoun also finished in top 10 in the field after posting a second-round 90 to take eighth overall.
Tracy Moriconi and Samantha Cameron both improved their scores in the second round, tying for 12th place with a tournament total score of 192.
