DESTIN, Fla. -- Mary Hardin-Baylor regained sole ownership of the top spot in the 2013 Division III Women's Golf Championship on Thursday with a third-round score of 311 for a total 928. The Cru is seven strokes ahead of Texas-Tyler, which carded a 318 for a three-round total of 935.

George Fox (319-304-320-943) and Methodist (318-313-317-948) remain in third and fourth, respectively. Williams scored a 323 on Thursday to bring its total to 957 and retain the team's fifth-place position, while DePauw stayed in sixth with a 321-323-321-965.

Washington-St. Louis improved to seventh place with a 319 (970). Centre (328-319-324-971) is the eighth-place team, while Illinois Wesleyan (329-320-323-972) and Southwestern (321-326-325-972) share the ninth spot.

Taylor O'Rear posted the low round for the Cru for the second day in a row with a 74. Her scorecard of 79-75-74-228 improved her to a fourth-place tie in individual standings. Victoria Thane jumped from the 40th slot to the 18th with a 238.

Elizabeth Davis remained tied for 12th with a 236, while Kelly Gonyea's 238 put her in the 18th spot. Sara Eckert was tied for 33rd with a 243. The Cru had seven birdies and 48 pars on the day.

UT-Tyler's Laura Lindsey was the individual leader with a three-round total of 221.

“I am proud of the way the girls played [Thursday],” Cru head coach Darla Kirby said. “We got off to a great start and struggled down the middle, but the girls rebounded at the end. We are a resilient team and I know they will come out ready to play again [Friday].”

The Cru will again be paired with UT-Tyler and George Fox for the final round of play on Friday afternoon.

The four-day 72-hole event is being played on a par-72 layout at Baytowne Gold Course. The UMHB women are making their third consecutive appearance in the national championship and their ninth overall NCAA postseason appearance.
