Arkansas Tech takes shortened Mo. Western Invitational

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- Rebecka Surtevall and Megan Jeffery carded opening-round 75s (3-over-par), while No. 22 Arkansas Tech combined to shoot an opening-round 311 to take an 11-stroke win in the snow-shortened Missouri Western Spring Invitational.

Four groupings, representing Central Missouri, Henderson State, Southern Nazarene and Southwest Baptist, did not conclude their opening round at the tournament on Day 1, and concluded play Monday morning, at which time the second round of the event was cancelled due to inclement weather.

Caroline Fredensborg finished tied for fourth place, four strokes off the pace set by her teammates after an opening-round 79 (7-over), while Laura Gallizo fired an 82 (10-over) to tie for 12th and Taylor Kline shot an 84 (12-over) to tie for 19th place in the 85-player field.

Seventh-ranked Central Oklahoma finished in second by shooting 322.
