Mikulak ties NCAA record, five others win individual titles

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan's Sam Mikulak tied a record with his seventh individual NCAA gymnastics title, winning the parallel bars on Saturday night.

Mikulak won the all-around title and led Michigan to a victory in the team competition Friday. But the pressure was on after he came up empty in his first three individual events Saturday. The senior's

last chance was on the parallel bars, and after a solid landing, he pumped both fists in what looked like a combination of exhilaration and relief.

Oklahoma's Alec Robin won both the floor exercise and vault, and teammate Michael Squires took the title on the still rings.

Ellis Mannon of Minnesota won the pommel horse, and Jordan Valdez of Illinois took the horizontal bar.

Illinois' Joe Giallombardo and Nebraska's Jim Hartung also won seven individual titles.
