Two Nebraska gymnasts reaped the rewards of leading the Huskers to the 14th Masters Classic team title, which included an upset of No. 3 UCLA Feb. 22.

The Huskers turned in a season-high score of 196.225 behind stellar performances by junior Kylie Stone and senior Tricia Woo.  Stone, a native of Calgary, Alberta, captured the all-around title with a career-best score of 39.475 and placed first on the floor exercise with a mark of 9.90, garnering Big 12 Gymnast of Week honors.

Woo collected her fifth balance beam title of the season with a 9.85 in the event, and tied for second place on the vault with a career-high 9.95.  The native of Milpitas, Calif., was named Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week for her performance.  Stone and Woo's efforts on the vault led the Huskers to a season-high score of 49.40 in the event.

ALL-AROUND GOODNESS: Florida's Melanie Sinclair posted the best all-around score (39.55) by a Gator gymnast this season as she sparked her team to a victory over then-No. 8 Alabama Feb. 20.

The junior from Orlando, Fla., recorded her third-highest career total in the all-around for her third win of the season, and claimed first place on the uneven bars (9.95) and the vault (9.90).  Sinclair placed first or second in each individual event against the Crimson Tide to earn her third career Southeastern Gymnast of the Week award. Sinclair leads Florida with 11 event titles this year, and is ranked No. 11 in the all-around with a 39.295 regional qualifying score.

No. 7 Florida travels to top-ranked Georgia on Feb. 28 for its final SEC meet of the season. The meet is sold out.

HIGH MARKS: Iowa sophomore Rebecca Simbhudas nabbed her first career all-around title as the Hawkeyes downed rival Iowa State for their first season sweep against the Cyclones since 1992.

The native of Markham, Ontario, claimed first place on the bars (9.825) and tied for first on the balance beam (9.850) as she compiled a 39.225 for the all-around title.

Against Southern Utah on Feb. 20, Simbhudas improved on her all-around performance from earlier in the week, scoring a 39.250 for a runner-up finish. Her score of 9.925 is the highest mark by any Iowa gymnast Danielle Legeai's 9.925 against Iowa State on March 17, 2006.  Simbhudas was selected Big Ten Gymnast of the Week for her performance.

NOTABLE:  Utah is promoting its March 6th meet against Arizona State as the program's annual Short People Appreciate Night.  Life-sized cutouts of 5'1" senior Kristina Baskett will be placed outside the entries and anyone measuring shorter than the cutout will earn free admittance, and the first 3,000 fans will be given life-sized growth chart posters of Baskett.  Utah is on pace to surpass its own attendance record of 13,164 fans per home meet from 1993.  The Utes are currently averaging 13,407 ... NC State freshman Brooke Barr received her fifth EAGL Rookie of the Week award after posting a season-high 9.9 on the vault for fifth place in the Masters Classic ... UCLA freshman Vanessa Zamarripa received Pac-10 Special Performance of the Week honors for the third time this season after scoring a perfect 10.0 on the vault for the third time this year.  She is the only gymnast in the nation to notch a flawless routine on the vault in 2009.
