GymDogs make aspiring gymnast honorary team member

A pair of former GymDogs were in Atlanta making one little girl’s day Thursday morning. The 10th-ranked Georgia women’s gymnastics team surprised Destiny, who aspires to one day become a gymnastics coach.

Destiny was born with a birth defect and was participating in Bert’s Big Adventure, an organization that provides an all-expenses-paid trip to Walt Disney World. During the send-off party for all the families participating, former Gymdogs Mariel Box and Shayla Worley offered Destiny the chance to be an honorary GymDog during the meet against No. 6 Alabama on March 5.

She will be able to have her hair and make up done as well as warm up with the team.

Current members of the team are preparing for the Mardi Gras Invitational, which is set for Friday, where they will face No. 1 Oklahoma. The Gymdogs will start the meet on beam, then move to floor, vault and bars.
