ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan and Michigan State skated to a 3-3 tie Saturday night, the third consecutive tie between the rivals.

Andrew Ebbett and Andrew Cogliano each had a goal and an assist for Michigan, and Brandon Kaleniecki got the other goal.

Tim Kennedy had a goal and an assist, and Tyler Howells and Tim Crowder also scored for Michigan State.

Billy Sauer made 35 saves for Michigan, and Dominic Vicari stopped 20 shots for Michigan State in the fourth consecutive overtime game between the schools.

The score was tied at 3 going into the third period after both teams scored twice in the second. Kaleniecki and Cogliano got Michigan's goals in the middle period, both on the power play, and Howells and Crowder got the markers for Michigan State.

Crowder's goal tied it with 43.7 seconds left in the period.

Kennedy gave the Spartans a 1-0 lead 4:17 into the game when he scored the first goal of his college career on a breakaway after stealing the puck from Tim Cook in the high slot. Ebbett tied it for the Wolverines with 6:59 remaining in the first period with a one-time slap shot from the high slot.
