PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - The No. 1-ranked Plattsburgh State men's hockey team posted its 15th win of the season, and 11th-straight at home, against No. 4 Middlebury College by a score of 4-1 Tuesday at the Stafford Ice Arena. The Cardinals' record now stands at 15-1-2 for the year while the Panthers drop to 12-3-1.

Middlebury came out ready to play in the first period. Martin Drolet scored the first and only goal of the game for Panthers off an assist by Bryan Curran seven minutes into the game. Panther goalie John Yanchek helped the team maintain the lead by stopping eight shots by the Cardinals before the first intermission.

Plattsburgh quickly dashed any hopes of an upset for Middlebury in the second period, however, by netting three goals in just over seven minutes. Phil Farrow shot in the game-tying goal with help from Shawn Dennis and Ryan Burke at the 10:58 mark. He was followed by Joey Wilson, who knocked in the game-winner and scored an insurance goal. Farrow assisted Wilson on both goals, while Dennis also contributed to the first and Nick Rolls earned an assist as well on the second.
Riley Hill closed out the Cardinals' scoring with under a minute left to play. Ryan Corry picked up his 13th assist of the season on the play.

In goal, Bryan Hince stopped 22 shots for the Cardinals and earned his 14th win of the season. Yanchek picked up 26 total saves for the Panthers.

Plattsburgh returns to action on Saturday at home against Morrisville for a State University of New York Athletic Conference game. The puck is set to drop at 7 p.m.
