PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Junior goalie Brittan Kuhlman made 40 saves as SUNY Cortland upset seventh-ranked SUNY Plattsburgh 2-0 on Friday night in SUNYAC action. The win against the Cardinals was the first for Cortland since a 6-3 home triumph six years ago to the day and raised the Red Dragons' record to 4-13-2 overall and 3-7-1 in the SUNYAC. Plattsburgh had a 12-game unbeaten streak (11-0-1) snapped and fell to 13-5-1 and 6-5.

Senior Jarrett Gold and junior Joey Christiano scored Cortland's goals with juniors Jake Saville and Peter Lompado collecting assists.

Josh Leis made 14 saves in net for the Cardinals.

Gold gave the Red Dragons the lead just 20 seconds into the game off assists from Saville and Lompado. Late in the second period, Christiano scored just 10 seconds after getting out of the penalty box to give Cortland a 2-0 lead at 19:54 of the stanza.

Plattsburgh, which out shot Cortland 15-6 in the third period, pulled Leis for an extra skater over the final 1:33 but could not get a puck past Kuhlman. The Cardinals went 0 of 5 on the power play in the game and held a 40-16 shot advantage.
