Kreider scores the game-winning goal for the Eagles
BOSTON -- Senior goaltender Chris Venti backstopped Boston College to a 2-1 Hockey East victory against Northeastern in his first collegiate start before 28,601 fans at Fenway Park on Saturday evening.

Venti, who had seen his first action of the season playing the final 30:02 of the team's 4-0 loss at Massachusetts on Friday night, stopped 14 of 15 shots faced to earn the win.
Junior center Pat Mullane scored with assistance from Steven Whitney to give BC a 1-0 lead early in the second period and junior forward Chris Kreider netted the go-ahead goal in a shorthanded situation at 4:02 of the third period to propel to the Eagles to the victory.
Northeastern junior center Garrett Vermeesch evened the score at 1-1 on the Huskies lone goal of the game at 16:19 of the middle period.
Boston College outshot Northeastern in each period and finished with a 30-15 advantage in the game.
Northeastern junior goaltender Chris Rawlings stopped 28 shots in 59:12 in the losing effort. He falls to 8-8-3.
