Greene bringing Stanley Cup to UND

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The Stanley Cup is coming back to Grand Forks.

The University of North Dakota says Los Angeles Kings defenseman Matt Greene will bring the NHL championship trophy to Ralph Engelstad Arena on Aug. 12 for a public viewing. Greene is a former UND captain.

The Kings won the Stanley Cup in June by beating the New York Rangers in the finals. It's a tradition that Cup-winning team members each get a day with the trophy. Former UND defenseman Mike Commodore brought the Cup to Grand Forks in 2006 after winning it with the Carolina Hurricanes.
