ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- Sixth-ranked Colgate scored twice in the first period as the Raiders defeated No. 7 St. Cloud St. 3-1 in men's ice hockey action Friday at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.
Joe Wilson and Evan Peterson scored two minutes apart in the first period to give the Raiders an early 2-0 advantage. St. Cloud St.'s Joey Benik cut the Colgate margin with a power play goal less than four minutes into the second period. Kyle Baun added the final point in the seventh minute of the third period.
Colgate goaltender Charlie Finn recorded 33 saves.
