GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- North Dakota defeated seventh-ranked Miami (Ohio) 4-1 on Saturday at Ralph Engelstad Arena.
North Dakota used three second-period goals from its top line to break open the game.
Miami took the lead 1:07 into the second period when Anthony Louis beat Zane McIntyre to give the RedHawks the lead. However, UND answered just two minutes later. Mark MacMillan scored his fifth goal of the season and first goal since returning from injury to even the game up at 1.
Less than three minutes later, Drake Caggiula scored a highlight-reel goal at 6:06 of the second to give UND its first lead of the weekend.
Late in the second period, Michael Parks got in on the fun, scoring his fifth goal of the season to give UND the 3-1 lead heading into the second intermission.
Caggiula then put the final dagger in the RedHawks in the third period when he scored his second goal of the night and sixth of the season to give UND the 4-1 lead.
Zane McIntyre finished the night with 28 saves for UND in the win.
