Mercyhurst, Colgate, Boston College, Western Michigan, Minnesota State-Mankato, Minnesota-Duluth and Minnesota each had three representatives on the list, the most by any school. Union (N.Y.)'s Daniel Ciampini, the NCAA's leader in points and goals, was a nominee for the award that is given to college hockey's most outstanding player. Joining Ciampini on the list his teammate Mike Vecchione and Boston University's Jack Eichel, who are both second to Ciampini on the NCAA scoring list with 36 points.
