UMass defenseman sparks major turnaround

The first game Brandon Montour was eligible to play for UMass, the Minutemen were dropped 8-3 by Northeastern on Dec. 16. That was more of the same for a team whose record dropped to 4-13-0 following the loss.

But since then there has been a major turnaround for UMass, whose record is 4-4-1 in the nine games since Dec. 16. Leading the turnaround is Montour, the team's points leader and former NHL Anaheim Ducks draft pick.

Drexel men's lacrosse upsets No. 13 UMass to earn a spot in CAA championship game

Drexel raced out to a 9-2 lead and held on for a 15-12 win at No. 14 UMass in the CAA Semifinals at Garber Field. Ross Blumenthal made 11 saves, many of the spectacular variety, as the Dragons (7-7) advanced to the CAA title game for the first time since 2014.

NCAA hockey Frozen Four 2019 : Minnesota Duluth shuts out UMass to repeat as national champion

The 2019 NCAA men's ice hockey tournament began on Thursday with semifinal action. Minnesota Duluth beat Providence to advance to the championship, while UMass defeated Denver in overtime. The Duluth Bulldogs then topped UMass for the national title.
