Princeton's Max Veronneau leads in second appearance of stars of the week

NCAA Hockey: Top Five Plays

1 – Max Veronneau, Princeton

  Princeton's Max Veronneau stood out as a major offensive force this past weekend.
The Ottawa, Ontario native is one of the NCAA Hockey Stars of the Week for the second straight week as he led the Princeton Tigers to a conference sweep of No. 7 Quinnipiac.

In Friday night’s 5-3 home victory, the sophomore forward had three assists. On Saturday, he added two goals and had an assist on the game-winning goal as Princeton won 4-1 at Quinnipiac.

For the weekend, he finished with six points on two goals and four assists, while adding seven shots on goal and a +5 rating. For the season, he now has 18 points on six goals and 12 assists.

In the team’s last four games he has been red hot, posting 13 points on six goals and seven assists, an average of more than three points per game.

2 – Chase Pearson, Maine

  Maine's Chase Pearson posted six points on five goals and an assist this weekend.
The freshman forward was instrumental in leading the Black Bears to a non-conference sweep of American International.

In Friday’s 5-3 victory, the Cornwall, Ontario native had a hat trick for Maine to lead the way. On Saturday, he added two more goals and an assist in a 7-2 win.

For the weekend, he finished with six points on five goals and an assist as well as nine shots on goal and a +3 rating. He now has compiled 15 points, 10 goals and five assists on the season.

3 – Justin Kloos, Minnesota

  Minnesota's Justin Kloos posted 18 points on seven goals and 11 assists so far this season.
The Lakeville, Minnesota native totaled five points in leading the Golden Gophers to a weekend sweep of Michigan State in Big Ten action.

In the Friday night series opener, the senior forward had three points on a goal and two assists in a 4-2 victory. On Saturday, Minnesota won by an identical 4-2 score as Kloos chipped in two assists in the win.

For the weekend, he totaled a goal and four assists in addition to nine shots on goal and a +3 rating. He has 18 points on seven goals and 11 assists on the season.
