High-scoring forwards highlight the NCAA Hockey men’s stars of the week as they lit up the scoreboard all weekend long in earning the honors.
1.) Marc Michaelis, Minnesota State
The Mannheim, Germany native scored both game-winners as the Mavericks swept Bemidji State in WCHA action. In Friday night’s 5-2 victory he had a hat trick to lead the way, while he added three points on two goals and an assist in Saturday’s 8-6 win. On the weekend, the sophomore forward scored five goals on eight shots in addition to one assist. For the season, he has 12 points on seven goals and five assists.2.) Christopher Grando, Boston College
The freshman forward led the Eagles to a conference sweep of Vermont in Burlington. In Friday’s 4-3 overtime victory he had two assists. He followed that up with two goals, including the game-winner, in Saturday’s 5-1 win. He finished the weekend with five points on two goals and three assists, while also adding seven shots on goal and finishing with a +6 rating. The Islip, New York native has nine points on the season on five goals and four assists.3.) Dylan McLaughlin, Canisius
The Lancaster, New York native was the key cog in the Golden Griffins’ offense this past weekend. He scored a goal on four shots in Friday’s 4-3 overtime loss at Mercyhurst. The junior forward posted four points, which included a hat trick, in Saturday’s 7-3 victory versus the Lakers. On the weekend he had five points on four goals and an assist to go along with nine shots on goal and a +2 rating. For the season, he has 14 points on seven goals and seven assists.
