Erie, Pa. – For the first time this season, the No. 4 Mercyhurst College women’s hockey team swept the weekly awards from College Hockey America as junior captain Meghan Agosta and sophomore Melissa Lacroix were named the CHA Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week while freshman Jess Jones earned the title of CHA Rookie of the Week.

Agosta recorded eight points on two goals and six assists to become Mercyhurst’s all-time leading scorer.  She assisted on the first goal of the game in both contests and finished the series with 10 shots on goal along with a plus/minus rating of +7.

Lacroix was key at both ends of the rink in the Lakers’ sweep of Vermont.  She recorded four assists including helpers on both game-winning goals, while earning a plus/minus rating of +6.  Lacroix aided the defense in only allowing 27 shots on goal in 120 minutes and killing 14 of the Catamounts’ 15 man-advantage opportunities.

Jones had five points in the two Laker wins.  She had a power-play assist on Saturday, and scored the first goal on Sunday.  Jones later contributed a goal and two assists.  Her two goals on Sunday was a career-best.  She finished the weekend with a plus/minus rating of +7.

In other news, the Lakers remained fourth in the latest USCHO.com Top-10 Women’s Division I poll with 105 points. Minnesota took over the top spot with eight first place votes and 143 points followed by Wisconsin, who finished with seven first place nods and 140 points.
