SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse University, TK99 FM and Galaxy Communications will present the second annual Gary Gait Laxapalooza on Saturday, February 7 in the Carrier Dome. The event is free of charge and includes the Orange men’s lacrosse team’s scrimmage, a shooting demonstration by head women’s lacrosse coach Gary Gait and  a youth clinic with the Syracuse men’s and women’s teams.

At noon, the defending national champion Syracuse men’s squad takes on Harvard in its final preseason scrimmage. After the game, Gait and 2008 Lacrosse Hall of Fame inductee and former Orange All-American Tom Marechek will take part in a shooting demonstration from 3 – 3:30 p.m. K-ROCK 100.9 will sponsor a contest for one lucky fan to take part in the shooting demonstration.

The Orange men’s and women’s lacrosse teams will conduct a Youth Clinic for fans ages 8-18 (participants must bring sticks and helmets/gloves/goggles) from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. Registration details will be announced at a later date.

Fans can take part in an autograph session from 4:30 – 5 p.m. Following the autograph session, a Fan  Zone will be open from 5– 6 p.m., featuring games, contests and prizes for youth ages 18 and under. TK99 personalities Gomez and Dave and Dave Frisina will provide music throughout the event.
