GREENSBORO, N.C. – ESPNU and ESPN2 have announced their coverage of the 2009-10 ACC Men’s Lacrosse season, which features a league all-time high 16 games, including all seven of the ACC match-ups.
“We are thrilled with the opportunity to have this unprecedented level of exposure for our four men’s lacrosse programs,” said ACC Commissioner John Swofford. “Our teams’ successes in men’s lacrosse have been well documented, and ESPN’s commitment allows us to showcase our programs to a national audience.”
The 2009-10 ESPN schedule, which opens when Maryland travels to Georgetown on February 27, features nine non-conference games, including four teams that competed in the 2009 NCAA Tournament and finished the season ranked in the final USILA coaches' poll, and seven ACC contests.
“ESPN remains committed to covering the sport of lacrosse throughout the entire season, from the first face-off to the NCAA Championship,” stated ESPN’s Director of Programming & Acquisitions Daniel Margulis. “We appreciate our partnership with the ACC and its vital role in bringing top level college lacrosse to the viewers at home."
ACC play begins on March 6, 2010 at Baltimore’s M&T Bank Stadium, where Maryland and Duke will face-off.  League teams own 10 national titles and have advanced to the finals 24 times. Last year, all four ACC teams finished the year ranked in the final USILA coaches' poll, including three of the top six spots.
The 2010 ACC Men’s Lacrosse Championship will be held in College Park, Md., on April 23 and 25, 2010 at the University of Maryland.
