Denver ranked No. 1 in media and coaches' polls for first time
DENVER -- Denver enters the 11th week of the season ranked No. 1 in both the Nike/Inside Lacrosse Media Poll and the USILA Coaches' Poll that were released on Monday. Denver received 399 points and six first-place votes in the media poll and 193 points and three first-place points in the coaches’ poll.

This is the first time in program history that they have been ranked No. 1 in the country.
Denver recorded its fifth consecutive win and third overtime win of the season as it defeated Eastern College Athletic Conference rival and defending national champion Loyola (Md.) on Saturday in Baltimore, Md. Senior Cameron Flint scored the game-winner 16 seconds into overtime to propel the Pioneers to a 13-12 win. Denver is now 10-2 on the season, 5-0 in league play.
In the media poll, the Pioneers are ahead of Notre Dame (390 points, 12 first-place votes), a team that Denver lost to in overtime in the Mile High Classic back in March. Behind the Irish are Syracuse (355 points, two first-place votes), Maryland (350 points) and North Carolina (348 points, one first-place vote).
In the coaches’ poll, North Carolina sits two points behind the Pioneers (191) and has five first-place votes. Notre Dame is third with 175 points and two first-place votes, followed by Maryland (162) and Syracuse (161).
